This 1930s Art Deco ceiling light brings period glamour to a room through its frosted white and sepia satin glass shade. The shade has a moulded embossed rose pattern across the skirt, fluted glass panels, beaded trim, and an open neck measuring 7.8 cm. A polished chrome plated brass gallery holds the glass globe securely in place with three small fastening screws along the metal rim. The entire flush mount fixture operates with a standard bayonet socket B 22. Measuring 19 cm high, 27 cm wide, and 27 cm deep, it provides a practical lighting solution for medium sized rooms, hallways, entryways, or even repurposed as a desk lamp or bedside table lamp. The classic combination of textured pressed glass and shiny metal hardware creates a distinct period aesthetic suitable for both traditional and modern interiors. The tactile rose reliefs and decorative beaded vertical lines offer subtle visual interest when unlit and a warm ambient glow when illuminated. Homeowners can install this compact fixture directly onto ceilings in lower clearance areas where hanging pendants are unsuitable, adding functional vintage character to a hallway or entrance space.

Art Deco lighting from the 1930s emphasizes geometric symmetry, streamlined shapes, and stylized organic reliefs. Fixtures frequently featured frosted, acid-etched, or satin glass shades paired with polished chrome, nickel, or brass hardware.

These fixtures were constructed using heavy pressed glass treated with acid or sandblasting to achieve a matte, satin texture. Metal galleries and mounting rings were typically crafted from brass plated in polished chrome or nickel.

Authentic pieces feature crisp moulded details, structural weight, visible mould seams, and age-appropriate wear or minor tarnish on metal fittings. The frosted surface usually displays a fine uniform finish distinct from modern painted reproductions.

Flush mount glass fixtures are ideal for areas with lower ceiling heights, such as hallways, entrance foyers, or bathrooms. They complement minimalist contemporary schemes by providing subtle texture while remaining authentic to period architecture.

Remove the shade from the metal gallery and clean using warm water with a mild detergent and a soft cloth. Avoid harsh chemical solvents or abrasive pads, which can damage the satin texture or metal finishes.
