We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Originally developed in the 17th and 18th centuries, the linen press was designed to store household linens flat under pressure from wooden screws or heavy shelves to keep them smooth before the invention of the modern iron.

These cabinets are traditionally crafted from solid hardwoods and veneers such as mahogany, oak, or walnut, featuring hand-cut dovetail joints on the drawers and panelled construction for the doors.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-beveled glass, irregularities in the timber grain, hand-forged or cast brass hardware, and construction hallmarks such as hand-sawn dovetailing rather than modern machine-cut joints.

It serves as a striking focal point in a bedroom or hallway, offering practical concealed storage while adding warmth, texture, and historical contrast to minimalist or modern neutral schemes.

Maintain the timber by keeping it away from direct sunlight and radiators to prevent drying and splitting, applying quality beeswax periodically, and dusting gently with a dry, soft cloth.
