The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Corinthian column lamps draw inspiration from classical Greek and Roman architecture, becoming particularly popular during the Neoclassical revival periods of the 19th and early 20th centuries as decorative lighting fixtures.

Authentic period column lamps are typically cast from solid brass, bronze, or copper, often featuring weighted iron bases for stability and intricate acanthus leaf detailing on the capital.

Authenticity is generally determined by heavy cast metal construction, appropriate patination, period-correct wiring methods, and hand-chased detailing on the capital rather than modern stamped manufacturing.

These lamps add architectural interest when paired with simple linen drum shades, serving as sophisticated accent lighting on sideboards, desks, or living room side tables.

Maintain polished or lacquered brass surfaces by dusting regularly with a soft, dry cloth and avoiding harsh chemical abrasives that can strip the protective metal finish.
