An Arts and Crafts silver caddy spoon is a small handwrought utensil designed for measuring tea leaves, originating from a late 19th- and early 20th-century design movement that emphasised handcrafted artisanal quality over mass production.

These spoons are typically forged from sterling silver using traditional hand-hammering, raising, and soldering techniques, often featuring visible hammering marks and hand-finished details characteristic of independent guild workshops.

Authentic pieces can be identified by clear British hallmarks indicating the assay office, date letter, and makers mark (such as those of AE Jones), alongside characteristic handwrought surface textures and organic, utilitarian forms.

Such pieces can be displayed within glass-fronted cabinets, on silver display trays, or integrated into tabletop arrangements to add historical texture and refined metallic detail to a dining room or study.

Antique silver should be gently cleaned using a specialist silver cloth to preserve the patina, avoiding harsh chemical dips, and stored in a low-humidity environment to prevent tarnishing.
