Bristol green glass refers to a distinct deep green glass manufactured predominantly in the English city of Bristol during the late 18th and 19th centuries, often utilised for apothecary jars, finger bowls, and decanters.

Victorian cut glass was traditionally mouth-blown into iron or wooden moulds and subsequently hand-cut on stone or iron wheels, followed by polishing to achieve high-clarity facets.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit pontil marks on the base, minor irregularities consistent with hand-blowing, heavy lead content, and sharp hand-cut faceting rather than uniform machine moulding.

An antique glass decanter can be displayed on a sideboard, bar cart, or open shelving to catch the light, adding historical texture and rich colour to a contemporary room scheme.

Antique glass should be washed by hand in lukewarm water using a mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes and abrasive scrubbers, and dried carefully with a lint-free cloth.
