We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The George V era in British silver manufacturing, spanning from 1910 to 1936, often drew inspiration from earlier neoclassical, Georgian, and Edwardian motifs, combining traditional craftsmanship with refined proportions.

These pieces are typically crafted from sterling silver, often shaped through traditional silversmithing techniques such as spinning or hammering, complemented by cast handles and applied decorative borders.

Authenticity is verified by examining official British hallmark stamps, which typically include the makers mark, the standard mark for sterling silver, the town assay office mark, and the date letter corresponding to the specific year.

Antique silver pieces add a reflective metallic accent to contemporary schemes and can be used on sideboards or coffee tables to hold small accessories or simply displayed as standalone decorative objects.

Silver should be cleaned periodically with a specialist non-abrasive silver polish to remove tarnish, handled with soft cloths to prevent scratching, and stored in a low-humidity environment away from direct sunlight.
