Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Corinthian column lamps draw inspiration from classical Greek and Roman architecture, experiencing significant revivals during the neoclassical and Victorian periods when ancient architectural motifs were adapted for home furnishings.

These lamps are typically manufactured from cast or spun brass, sometimes featuring bronze patination, weighted metal bases for stability, and intricate detailing on the capital and plinth.

Authentic period pieces often feature heavy-gauge cast brass construction, traditional wiring access points, hand-finished chasing on the capital, and appropriate patina indicating age rather than artificial distressing.

They provide a striking architectural element when placed on a dark wood sideboard, office desk, or mantelpiece, contrasting effectively against minimalist backgrounds or complementing traditional schemes.

Brass should be dusted regularly with a soft cloth and cleaned sparingly with a non-abrasive metal cleaner only if necessary, preserving the natural oxidisation and character accumulated over time.
