Edwardian jewellery, produced during the reign of King Edward VII (19011910), is characterised by delicate, lace-like platinum settings, millegrain edging, and an emphasis on diamonds and pearls to create an airy, garland-style aesthetic.

Master craftsmen of the Edwardian era frequently paired platinum with yellow gold, white gold, or silver. Platinum rose to prominence during this period due to its strength, which allowed for ultra-fine wirework and intricate settings without bulk.

Authentic pieces often feature hand-cut stones such as old European cuts or old mine cuts, hand-carved platinum detailing, authentic makers marks, and characteristic millegrain beadwork along the metal edges.

Antique jewellery pairs exceptionally well with minimalist modern clothing to allow the intricate craftsmanship to stand out, and it can be effectively layered with contemporary pieces for a curated, mixed-era aesthetic.

Preserve antique rings by storing them individually in soft-lined boxes, removing them during rigorous physical activities, and having the settings professionally inspected annually to ensure the delicate prongs and millegrain remain secure.
