Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco design, prominent from the 1920s to the 1930s, is characterised by geometric symmetry, stylised motifs, and vibrant enamel work combined with precious metals like sterling silver.

These items are traditionally constructed from sterling silver frames enclosing a glass or crystal base, featuring intricate machine-turned metal under translucent vitreous enamel known as guilloche.

Authenticity is confirmed by examining the hallmarks stamped into the silver, which typically include a makers mark, the lion passant for sterling silver, the town mark for offices such as Birmingham, and a date letter corresponding to the year of assay.

Place the piece prominently on a mirrored vanity tray, dressing table surface, or a mantelpiece to add a touch of period metallic accent and vibrant colour to the room.

Enamel is sensitive to harsh chemicals and abrasives; clean the piece gently using a soft, damp cloth and dry immediately, avoiding prolonged contact with water and commercial silver dips that can damage the enamel surface.
