Art Deco furniture, emerging in the 1920s and 1930s, is characterised by sleek geometric shapes, streamlined forms, and the use of luxurious materials such as burr walnut and exotic veneers.

Craftsmen typically utilised solid secondary woods overlaid with decorative wood veneers like walnut, maple, or mahogany, often employing expert joinery and high-gloss shellac or French polished finishes.

Authenticity is determined by inspecting the veneer grain, construction joinery appropriate to the period, traditional finishing techniques, and age-related wear such as minor oxidation and surface patination.

This piece can serve as a focal accent table in a modern living space, pairing effectively with minimalist decor to highlight its architectural lines and rich wood grain.

Maintain the finish by keeping the piece out of direct sunlight, avoiding excessive moisture, and occasionally applying a specialist beeswax polish using a soft, lint-free cloth.
