Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

The George III style, spanning the mid-to-late 18th century, is characterised by classical proportions, refined neoclassical influences, and the prominent use of high-quality timbers such as mahogany.

Master cabinetmakers of the period primarily utilized solid mahogany and mahogany veneers, often incorporating crown glass panes and brass hardware.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-cut dovetail joints, old secondary timbers on the backboards, traditional hand-blown glass with natural imperfections, and signs of age-appropriate oxidisation and wear.

It can serve as a sophisticated focal point in a home office or living room, providing functional display space for curated book collections while grounding modern minimalist decor with traditional warmth.

Keep the wood away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent warping or fading, and occasionally apply microcrystalline wax to nourish and protect the finish.
