FAQs

The Sheraton style, originating in the late 18th century, is characterised by classical proportions, straight lines, symmetrical designs, and delicate inlay work inspired by neoclassical motifs.

Traditional construction typically employs fine hardwoods such as mahogany, satinwood, and rosewood, often enhanced with contrasting stringing and geometric wood veneers.

Authenticity is determined by examining timber species, joinery techniques, the precision of the marquetry or inlay, and signs of natural oxidisation and wear consistent with the period.

Pairing classical wooden pieces with contemporary neutral lampshades and clean-lined furnishings creates a balanced transitional scheme that highlights the warmth of the timber.

Maintain the finish by dusting with a dry, soft cloth and occasionally applying high-quality beeswax, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners and direct sunlight to protect the wood.
