Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Victorian brass candlesticks frequently feature ornate cast or spun designs, often incorporating classical revival motifs, barley twist stems, or heavily weighted circular bases reflective of nineteenth-century manufacturing methods.

These items were typically produced using brass alloys via sand casting, spinning, or turning on a lathe, often constructed in multiple sections and joined with threaded components or soldering.

Authenticity is evaluated through manufacturing marks, weight, casting seams, base construction methods, and the natural presence of age-related patination, wear, and oxidisation rather than uniform modern finishes.

They can be placed on mantelpieces, sideboards, or dining tables as focal points, contrasting their reflective metallic surfaces and historical form against clean modern architectural lines.

Maintenance involves dusting with a soft dry cloth and avoiding harsh chemical polishes that strip historical patina, preserving the surface layer of oxidisation which demonstrates age.
