This antique Regency chandelier dates from 1920, presenting a grand tent and bag structure composed of clear crystal bead strands and graduated glass elements. The construction incorporates silvered metal bands, detailed with decorative mouldings and inset with four oval blue Wedgwood jasperware cameo plaques featuring classical white reliefs. Additional details include an upper crown, horizontal metal mountings, and a suspended drop crystal finial underneath the base. The materials combine clear glass, silver-coloured metal, and blue-and-white jasperware, creating a sparkling reflective finish. The piece measures 120 cm high, 45 cm wide, and 45 cm deep. Designed for interior illumination when wired, it provides a striking focal point for principal reception rooms, grand hallways, or dining spaces, serving as a decorative ceiling fixture in traditional domestic settings.

Emerging in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, tent and bag chandeliers feature an upper section composed of cascading crystal beads forming a tent shape, and a lower section arranged into a rounded bag or basket silhouette.

These fixtures are constructed using cut glass or crystal octagonal beads strung on metal wire, supported by a framework of brass or silvered bronze, frequently decorated with ceramic jasperware plaques.

Authentic accents feature unglazed matte stoneware plaques with relief cameo figures, typically in pale blue and white, inset into metal framing along the central band of the fixture.

High-ceiling foyers, formal dining areas, or minimalist reception rooms provide ideal settings where the crystalline form functions as a focal architectural lighting element.

Dust regularly using a dry microfibre cloth or soft brush; for deeper cleaning, carefully wipe individual crystal strands with a damp cloth, avoiding moisture contact with metal frames or stoneware plaques.
