We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

A George III linen press is a large storage cabinet produced during the reign of King George III, spanning from 1760 to 1820, specifically designed to store household linens flat or folded before the widespread use of hanging wardrobes.

These pieces were typically constructed from dense tropical hardwoods like Cuban or Honduras mahogany, often featuring secondary woods such as oak or pine for drawer linings and carcases, utilising hand-cut dovetail joints and intricate crossbanding.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetailing in the drawer construction, timber shrinkage consistent with age, hand-turned brass hardware, and subtle tool marks on the interior surfaces rather than modern machine-made precision.

This piece works well as a statement storage solution in a master bedroom or dressing room, contrasting against neutral walls to highlight the rich grain of the wood and traditional craftsmanship.

Maintain antique mahogany by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber splitting, and nourish the wood periodically using traditional beeswax rather than modern silicone polishes.
