FAQs

A creepie stool is a traditional low, three or four-legged wooden seat historically used in Scottish rural cottages for sitting near the hearth or low fireside.

These pieces were typically constructed from local domestic hardwoods such as oak, elm, pine, or fruitwoods, utilizing simple pegged mortise and tenon joinery.

Authentic apprentice pieces often display meticulous scale craftsmanship, traditional joinery techniques, natural timber ageing, and tool marks consistent with period hand tools.

An antique wooden stool can be utilized as a small display surface for botanical arrangements, a compact bedside support, or an accent piece in a minimalist scheme to introduce warmth and historical texture.

Preserve antique wood by maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct sunlight, and periodically applying microcrystalline wax to nourish and protect the finish.
