Cotswold Oriental Rugs has dated this Antique Bordjalou Kazak Rug to the 1870s.
Circa 1870.
The rug has three large latch hook medallions on a madder red field, there are many abstract filler elements covering the field. The ivory ground border has the 'arrow-block' design, this is scarce on Kazak rugs. This attractive rug is of a smaller size than is normally found. The rug has glossy wool with a soft floppy handle, as expected it has multiple ivory wefts.

The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium pile, the blacks are corroded and there are a few small old repairs. The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
