Size: 6ft 7in x 4ft 11in (200 x 151cm).Antique Caucasian Bordjalou Kazak rug of two medallion design, Bordjalou is the most northerly town that produced Kazak rugs.Circa 1880.The rug has two large latch hook medallions on a indigo blue field. The medallions are surrounded by tribal design elements; these include a horse rider and many animals. The ivory ground border is of a classic Kazak design. The rug has glossy wool with a soft floppy handle, as expected it has multiple wefts.The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and good pile; lower in a few spots , the blacks are slightly corroded and there are a few very small old repairs.
