Description

This is a wonderful set of four, solid sterling silver pedestal salts.

Each is clearly hallmarked for London 1878, with the maker's mark of Elkington & Co (Frederick Elkington). They are all in excellent condition.

Oval in shape, with scroll handles raised on rectangular pedestal feet, the bodies of the salts are decorated with flowers, scrolls and birds above a gadrooned band with bead edge to foot and rim. There is an empty cartouche on each side and the internal gilding is excellent.
