Description

? A wonderful rare pair of C19th oak low bookcases, the moulded edge tops with rounded projecting corners and centre, above carved columns with diamond patterns and Corinthian capitals, flanking open front with adjustable shelves. Raised on moulded plinth bases with octagonal projected corners and centre. The sides with architraved panels. Fantastic proportions and form with good colour throughout. Circa 1840.

This nineteenth-century pair of low open bookcases is made of oak with a dark brown finish. Each piece has a moulded edge top with rounded projecting corners and a centre, situated above carved columns showing diamond patterns and Corinthian capitals. These columns flank an open front fitted with adjustable shelves, while the sides display architraved panels and the base consists of a moulded plinth with octagonal projected corners and centre.
