Antique Period Furniture 17thc Charles 1 Oak Livery Cupboard. English C1620-30.

Description

A very early form of joined oak cupboard from the reign of Charles 1 , known as a livery cupboard....it has two cupboards with split applied balusters to decorate the front, bordered by arched fielded panels....there is dentil moulding below the cornice, repeated twice and also above the long drawer below the cupboards and an open potboard base...all supported by four boldly turned columns, so typical of this period. The cupboard is in excellent condition for its age, with only some minimal tipping to the two back feet....excellent colour and natural patination....a unique chance to buy something very special from this early time...!
