E W Cousins and Son has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The pair of glazed doors opening to a velvet lined interior, now faded, with three velvet covered adjustable shelves. An ormolu door strip and escutcheons. The flanking stiles having floral marquetry with ormolu mounts top and bottom. The base having square edge to top over shaped frieze with floral marquetry with ormolu moulded base. The panelled doors below having marquetry bouquet of flowers in vases within ormolu moulded frames having ormolu door strip and escutcheons, the side stiles conforming to the top stiles. The interior again with velvet lining and one fixed shelf. All on shaped plinth base.
