Arthur Rawes Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
English made and dates to around 1820.

The piece has been made with the highest quality showing in every aspect of its build. This piece has originally been made for a country house and does show that.
The cupboard has been made with mixture of solid oak and a rich mahogany. the lower chest has an oak body with beautiful mahogany twisted columns down either side, a decorative mahogany plinth and beautiful rich mahogany veneer.

The lower chest hides a secret drawer that is unseen to the natural eye and a perfect space for valuables.
The top cupboard is again an oak body with mahogany detailing. The cupboard has internal shelving and has a later but period blue paint to the inside.

The chest sits on turned mahogany bulb feet with its original mahogany drawer knobs.
The chest comes with 2 keys. the top cupboard key and locks works perfect.
The lower chest key is the original but struggles to catch the lock and is temperamental.

The chest is in overall excellent condition and you will struggle to find an example as well kept as this piece.
The chest has some slight age related wear but nothing that detracts from the piece. There is some wear on the sides of the lower cupboard and some imperfections in the mahogany veneer but overall a very well kept piece of Georgian of furniture. Please study pictures.
