Description

A very nice quality early 20th century (Edwardian-Art Deco) bar brooch or lapel pin in solid gold and platinum studded with rose-cut diamonds. The bar is mounted with a very pretty little duck in flight, its neck and head picked out in a lovely blue-green enamel complete with yellow beak.

Marked 15CT PLATM. Fifteen-carat gold pieces are not overly common (in the UK only really used between 1854 and 1932) and as this fineness was generally used in high quality pieces, it is attractive to collectors.

Secures with a safety pin fixing with a tiny latch for additional security.

In excellent antique condition.

Size: 5.8cm long, the duck measures approximately 2 x 1.5cm.

Weight: 4.1g.
