A truly exceptional example of an English 19th-century miniature chest of drawers in mahogany. The layout consists of two short drawers over three full-width drawers on a plinth base, and with a rounded-edged overhanging top. All of the finely dovetailed drawers retain their original turned knob handles, and the backing boards are also original. In over thirty years of trading this is the finest example we''ve seen; perfect proportions and with an original finish and a glowing patina. There is a working key to the top full-width drawer. This highly decorative chest would make an ideal trinket/jewellery box. It is Victorian, and it dates from c.1880s.
