FAQs

The Louis XV style, emerging in France during the 18th century, is characterised by asymmetrical designs, natural motifs, and serpentine lines, moving away from the heavy symmetry of the previous reign.

These pieces are typically constructed from native European hardwoods such as walnut, oak, or fruitwood, featuring traditional joinery like dovetail drawers and hand-carved ornamentation.

Authenticity is assessed through timber ageing, hand-cut joinery, traditional hardware, and the natural patination that develops on the wood surface over centuries of use.

Pairing this traditional piece with contemporary minimalist elements creates a balanced aesthetic, allowing the historical craftsmanship and organic wood textures to act as a focal point.

Maintain antique wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and periodically applying microcrystalline wax to nourish the surface without damaging the historic finish.
