Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The emerald cut was originally developed in the sixteenth century specifically for cutting emerald gems to reduce pressure during the shaping process and prevent chipping. During the Art Deco period of the 1920s and 1930s, this rectangular step-cut became central to fine jewellery design due to its clean geometric lines and emphasis on gemstone clarity.

High-grade fine jewellery traditionally pairs natural beryl emeralds with brilliant-cut diamonds. The settings are typically crafted from noble metals such as platinum or eighteen-carat white gold, which provide durability and highlight the cool contrast between green and white tones.

Authentic emeralds typically contain natural internal inclusions, known as jardin, visible under magnification. In addition, genuine period or fine jewellery pieces carry official assay marks or hallmarks stamped inside the band to verify the purity of the metal.

A substantial gemstone ring acts as a singular focal point for formal or evening dress. It pairs well with structured tailoring, minimalist neutral palettes, or monochrome outfits that allow the vivid green hue to stand out without competing accessories.

Emeralds are sensitive to heat and pressure, so ultrasonic cleaners and harsh detergents should be avoided. Clean the ring gently using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush, ensuring the piece is stored separately in a lined box to prevent scratching.
