Description

A beautiful porcelain vase painted all round with carp , on a subtle lime green ground .

Makuzu seal mark for 1910 .

Condition . Perfect.

Makuzu Kozan (Japan 1842 - 1916 ) was created "Imperial Master" by the Meiji Emperor in 1896 . He is considered one of the most important artists of the Meiji period . His work can be found in most Western museums , there are a number of vases in the splendid KHALILI collection of Japanese art .
