Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian silver vanity items, produced between 1901 and 1910, typically combine heavily cut lead crystal glass with hallmarked sterling silver covers. Design details often showcase flowing swirls, fluting, or classical repousse motifs reflective of early twentieth-century metalwork.

These containers were generally constructed using heavy lead crystal glass, hand-cut with geometric patterns, topped by solid sterling silver or silver-gilt lids. The silver lids were hallmarked by British assay offices to verify metal purity.

Authentic British silver from this period displays a set of stamped hallmarks, including the lion passant mark for sterling silver, an assay office symbol (such as a leopard head for London or an anchor for Birmingham), a makers mark, and a specific date letter.

An antique silver and crystal box can be displayed on a vanity table, bedside cabinet, or bathroom countertop to store small jewellery pieces or cotton pads while adding a reflective surface texture to the room.

The glass base should be washed gently with mild dish soap and warm water using a soft cloth. The sterling silver lid should be polished exclusively with a specialized silver polishing cloth to remove tarnish without stripping original patina or damaging delicate hallmarking.
