M Lees and Sons has dated this Dutch Floral Marquetry Bureau to the 18th Century.
The imposing figured walnut bureau with exuberant floral marquetry inlay throughout , the flamboyant bombe-shaped body fitted with high quality neo-classical cast gilded handles, escutcheons and vertical side mounts to the corners, down onto elaborate cast sabot feet.

Fitted with a shaped interior with an arrangement of drawers ,a tambour centre door , secret and concealed drawers , and pigeon-holes all with corresponding floral marquetry inlay . The pull-out writing surface with it’s original oval gilt-tooled Moroccan leather-inset writing panel, above a 3-drawer , oak-lined , bombe shaped base . Neo-classical design gilded handles, escutcheons and mounts ,with sabots to the feet.

An exuberant marquetry bureau of good large scale and proportions in excellent original condition with no damage or repairs , which has achieved a rich colour and patina to the original polished surface .
Constructed in two parts for ease of movement and transportation.
