John Howkins Antiques has dated this Dutch Marquetry Cylinder Bureau to the 1800s.
Fitted with 6 serpentine shaped drawers, 4 flat drawers and a small cupboard flanked by 2 tall stationary drawers each having ormolu capitals. The slide having marquetry inlaid writing paraphernalia and brass pulls. The lower section with floral marquetry inlay and satinwood banding to the canted corners. The 3 graduated and inlaid drawers with oval brass handles, cast escutcheons and open between cross grain mouldings. The bureau is raised on an attractive shaped frieze with leaf carved feet and scroll toes. Condition - Very good with a few bumps & bruises associated with age and use.
