Folk and Fable Antiques has dated this Opaque Twist Stem Glass to the 18th Century.
This is an independent date report produced by Sellingantiques using its own proprietary system. The process uses the photographs shown on this page. The system is never told the date the dealer has declared. This report shows that the two dates corroborate.

Dating to circa 1760-1780, this would have been a real high status luxury item. Because the white enamel spirals were so expensive and difficult to make, the ultimate "make do and mend" solution was to take it to a silversmith to fashion a bespoke silver replacement foot. Thus saving an expensive possession and turning a bad break into a serious status statement.

A fabulous piece of social history and you really don’t see many of these higher end make do pieces.
Condition is good, commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound. No chips or cracks.
