FAQs

Victorian cranberry glass is a type of red-tinted glassware produced by adding gold salts or gold oxide to molten glass, which became popular across Britain during the nineteenth century.

Stems were typically hand-blown or drawn from clear glass, after which small blobs of molten glass were applied and impressed with a textured stamp to create raspberry prunts.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit evidence of hand-blowing, such as a ground or smooth pontil mark at the base, slight variations in wall thickness, and subtle intensity shifts in the cranberry hue.

Displaying cranberry glass on open shelving, dining tables, or near light sources allows natural light to highlight the jewel-toned colour within contemporary or traditional rooms.

Wash by hand using lukewarm water and mild liquid detergent, avoiding dishwashers, abrasive sponges, and sudden temperature variations that could induce thermal stress.
