We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

This nineteenth-century Korean Joseon style wedding cabinet follows a traditional two-tier stacked form constructed from a pine carcass clad in figured elm with a warm brown timber finish and extensive polished brass hardware. The exterior displays panelled framed doors with distinctive butterfly hinges, elaborate circular lock plates, decorative corner mounts, four small top drawers with heart-shaped pulls, and hanging red drop tassels. Detailed geometric wooden mouldings frame the elevation alongside shaped bracket feet supporting the base. Measuring 125 cm high by 87 cm wide and 40 cm deep, the storage unit occupies a compact footprint suitable for various interior spaces. Practical placement includes a living room, hallway, or bedroom where the traditional cabinet functions as a functional statement storage piece for linens, tableware, or everyday items. The timeless design integrates naturally into eclectic or minimalist interior schemes, offering generous internal storage behind the securely fastened upper and lower doors while providing surface display space on the substantial top panel.

Korean wedding cabinets, historically commissioned as bridal dowry items during the Joseon period, were designed to store garments, bedclothes, and personal belongings in domestic quarters.

These cabinets are typically constructed from native hardwoods such as elm, paulownia, or pine, using mortise-and-tenon joinery and decorated with hand-forged brass or iron hardware.

Authentic pieces feature traditional un-nailed frame construction, natural grain movement in the wood panels, original patinated metal fittings, and age-appropriate wear near hand-crafted hinges.

A Korean cabinet functions as a focal storage piece in a hallway, dining room, or living space, providing architectural texture when paired alongside contemporary art and neutral decor.

Position the piece away from direct heat sources, dust surfaces regularly with a soft microfibre cloth, apply natural beeswax sparingly to the timber, and avoid abrasive brass polishes to retain the original oxidised patina.
