Vintage 20th Century Oak Stacking Bookcase | by Minty of Oxford

Vintage 20th century sectional stacking bookcase in oak by Minty of Oxford, a well-made and practical piece of excellent quality, showcasing the fine craftsmanship these celebrated library specialists were known for.

The bookcase is made up of three stacking sections above a plinth base. The top section is a cupboard enclosed by a pair of panelled doors with metal bar handles, and below are two glazed sections, each with a pair of sliding glass doors to keep books dust-free. The middle section has a further shelf inside, giving plenty of well-protected storage.

It bears the original ivorine maker's plaque reading Minty Limited, Library Specialists, Oxford.

The sections stack neatly on one another, so the bookcase comes apart for easy delivery and access, in the true tradition of the classic sectional library bookcase.

The oak displays a lovely figured quarter-sawn grain, especially across the top, and a warm golden colour with a pleasing aged patina.

Of neat, compact proportions, it is presented in good condition. A very desirable piece by a sought-after maker, perfect for a study, sitting room, library or office.
