Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A circular mahogany revolving bookcase from the 1920s period features a warm brown colour with a deep patinated finish, three tiers, vertical slatted sides, and turned central columns. The circular top is inlaid with a central shell motif in satinwood, complemented by a satinwood-strung and cross-banded edge, while the rotating base rests on small brass castors. The unit measures 81 cm high by 56 cm wide and 56 cm deep. Suitable for use in a study, home office, or at the end of a sofa in a living room, this piece provides practical tiered storage for books and display items. The revolving mechanism allows easy access to volumes from any angle, making it a functional addition to a traditional interior or gentleman's library setting.

The revolving bookcase was developed in the late 19th century to maximise book storage within a compact footprint. Designed for private studies and libraries, these units feature multiple open shelves mounted around a central rotating spindle mechanism to allow access from all sides.

Revolving bookcases from the 1920s were primarily constructed from solid hardwoods such as mahogany, oak, or walnut. Internal components feature iron or brass ball bearings set within a timber central shaft, supported by slatted side bars and brass castors.

Authentic period examples display dense timber construction, hand-turned support columns, and traditional joinery. Look for smooth mechanical rotation on cast iron or brass mechanisms, uniform patination along shelf edges, and original brass wheel castors at the base.

A circular revolving bookcase functions effectively as a side table adjacent to an armchair or sofa. Combine themed literature on the lower tiers with a brass reading lamp, ceramic vessel, or decorative object placed on the top surface.

Dust surfaces weekly using a clean microfibre cloth and apply beeswax polish along the wood grain once a year. Keep the rotation mechanism free of dust, apply light machine oil to the bearings if required, and position away from direct heat sources to prevent timber movement.
