Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

FAQs

Furniture produced in Eastern Europe during the turn of the 20th century often utilised native softwoods such as pine, featuring painted or faux-grain finishes, sturdy panel construction, and practical marble or stone surfaces designed for utility and longevity.

Bedside cabinets and pot cupboards from this period were commonly constructed from solid pine or oak, fitted with cast metal handles or drop pulls, and frequently topped with marble slabs to protect the timber from moisture and heat.

Authentic pieces generally display period-correct construction techniques, including hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, hand-carved panel details, original metal locks or latches, and natural surface wear on the timber base and marble tops.

These cabinets work well alongside neutral linens, minimalist contemporary lighting, and modern bed frames, adding warm wood tones and organic texture to modern or rustic bedroom settings.

Timber surfaces should be dusted with a soft cloth and conditioned with natural beeswax, avoiding harsh chemical sprays. Marble tops require pH-neutral cleaners to prevent etching or discolouration of the stone.
