Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This George III small cupboard originates from around 1800 and is constructed from oak in a dark brown timber colour. The exterior has a deep polished finish with visible grain and patination, a moulded cornice at the top, and bracket feet supporting the base. Two panelled doors on the front contain carved lunettes, floral rosettes, and geometric motifs, accompanied by brass escutcheons and a small brass drop handle. Peg-joined construction methods secure the frame, which encloses three adjustable shelves behind the doors. Measuring 165 cm high, 80 cm wide, and 37 cm deep, this slim storage unit fits well in a hallway, dining room, or bedroom for linens, tableware, or books. The compact footprint makes it practical for smaller spaces within a traditional interior setting.

George III oak cupboards typically feature panelled construction, hand-carved decoration such as lunettes and rosettes, and classical proportions characteristic of late 18th and early 19th-century British cabinetry.

These cupboards were constructed using solid native oak with mortise and tenon joinery, fielded panels to accommodate timber movement, and hand-cast brass escutcheons or drop handles.

Authentic pieces display hand-sawn timber marks on the back panels, wooden peg construction, natural surface wear around handles and bases, and period-correct iron hinges or brass keyhole fittings.

A carved oak cupboard functions as a focal storage piece in a hallway, dining space, or living room, offering visual contrast when paired with contemporary neutral walls and modern textiles.

Keep the timber positioned away from direct heat sources and damp conditions, dust regularly with a soft dry cloth, and apply a clear beeswax polish annually to protect the surface finish.
