Good looking late 19th.c. Dutch colonial campaign chest in teak with decorative brasswork c.1880. Solid teak boards with extensive brass decoration across the top, front and sides. With folding iron handles at the sides. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.

This late nineteenth-century Dutch colonial campaign chest originates from around 1880. Constructed from solid teak boards in a warm brown timber colour, the rectangular box exhibits extensive decorative brasswork across the top, front and sides. Pierced brass corner brackets, quatrefoil floral mounts and meticulous brass stud detailing accentuate the natural grain of the wood. Folding dark iron handles are fitted to the sides, while traditional box hardware secures the hinged lid. Measuring 45.5 cm high by 100.5 cm wide and 49.5 cm deep, this practical storage trunk serves well in a gentleman's library, study or living room.
