Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Anglo-Indian campaign furniture was designed for British military officers and colonial officials stationed in India during the 18th and 19th centuries. Pieces were constructed by Indian craftsmen combining Western functional designs with durable native hardwoods and protective brass fittings for travel.

These trunks were typically constructed from robust hardwoods such as teak, camphorwood, or mahogany to withstand climate shifts and insect damage. Heavy brass corner brackets, flush handles, and reinforced straps were fitted flush to the wood to prevent snagging during transport.

Authentic pieces feature inset or flush-mounted brass hardware designed to withstand rough transport. Look for hand-cut dovetail joints, heavy native timbers like teak or aromatic camphorwood, period locks, and signs of genuine age-related wear around carrying handles and straps.

A campaign trunk functions effectively as a central coffee table in a living room, a foot-of-bed storage box, or a accent piece in a hallway. The warm timber tones and geometric brasswork complement both traditional and modern eclectic design schemes.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a clear beeswax polish once or twice a year to preserve the wood finish. Keep the piece away from direct heat sources to prevent timber shrinkage, and wipe brass fittings gently without using harsh chemical cleaners.
