Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian coloured glassware includes vessels produced in Britain during the 18th and early 19th centuries using metallic oxides to produce rich hues such as amethyst, cobalt, and green. These pieces often exhibit hand-blown conical or bucket bowls paired with structured knopped stems.

Artisans used heavy lead glass infused with manganese oxide to generate the purple amethyst tone. The glasses were hand-blown, with stems joined and shaped using manual manipulation before annealing.

Authentic examples typically feature slight hand-blown variations, minute air bubbles within the matrix, and a pontil mark on the underside of the base. Bottom rim wear should appear organic and uneven, reflecting authentic surface contact over time.

A coloured glass flute can be displayed on a sideboard top or within a glass-fronted cabinet where lighting can pass through the rich glass. It also serves as a refined decorative element on a dining table setting.

Wash carefully by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding dishwasher use entirely to prevent clouding or thermal shock. Dry with a soft lint-free cloth and store upright in a stable environment.
