A Gorgeous Early Victorian Etched Celery Vase

19th century
Description

A delightful and attractive piece of early Victorian tea-table ware. The body is tulip shaped with a flared, undulating rim. To the lower third is deep ribbed detail, with beautiful flower and leaf etching above. There is a large, drop baluster knop and supporting collar. The base has a polished pontil mark. Celery vases are making quite a comeback as vintage tableware continues in it's popularity. These particular items lend themselves to the modern table for alternative uses, such as flowers etc. and are attractive and practical items. Dimensions below.
