Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian cranberry glass is a pink-to-red tinted blown glass coloured by introducing gold chloride into the batch during the melting process. It was produced across the United Kingdom during the mid-to-late 19th century for tableware and decorative items.

The glass was mouth-blown and shaped manually, with contrasting clear glass handles, feet, or prunts added while the glass remained hot. White glass threading around the neck was achieved by wrapping thin strands of white enamel glass around the vessel prior to final shaping.

Authentic pieces feature pontil marks on the base where the glassmaker rod was detached, slight variations in colour depth, and hand-applied elements rather than machine seams. The white threading and clear handles are fused directly to the body.

This type of glassware can be placed on open shelving, sideboards, or window sills where natural light highlights the translucency and colour of the glass. Combining cranberry glass with neutral ceramics or darker timber creates a focused visual accent.

Wash the glass by hand using lukewarm water and mild liquid soap, avoiding abrasive pads or harsh chemical detergents. Do not expose the item to sudden temperature changes or submerge it in hot water, as thermal shock can cause cracking.
