A late 19th century oak open bookcase of excellent colour and proportions, dating from circa 1880–1900. The bookcase is fitted with three adjustable shelves providing generous display and storage space, above a pair of useful full-width drawers.
The drawers retain attractive Art Nouveau brass drop handles and are constructed with dovetailed joints, reflecting the quality of manufacture. The bookcase stands on a shaped plinth base and is finished in a warm golden oak with a rich patina that has developed over many years.
Of practical size and classic design, this versatile piece would work equally well in a study, sitting room, library, or country house interior. Ideal for books, decorative objects, or collections.
