Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Victorian walnut footstool takes its design cues from the French Rococo style, measuring 48 cm high, 61 cm wide, and 49 cm deep. The warm brown timber takes the form of cabriole legs with carved bellflowers, terminating in scroll feet, and features an ornate carved relief on the apron. The upholstered seat displays a multi-coloured patterned tapestry textile in shades of red, blue, and beige, finished with a dark fabric band and braided trim. The piece is in unrestored original condition. Positioned in a contemporary bedroom, this footstool functions practically at the foot of the bed or as an accent seat in a living area. The compact proportions allow for versatile placement in both large and small spaces, bringing traditional character and warmth to interior schemes.

Curving cabriole legs, scrolled feet, and detailed floral or acanthus relief carvings on the aprons and knees define traditional Louis XV style seating.

Dense hardwoods such as walnut or beech form the carved frame, typically paired with hand-woven tapestry, needlepoint, or damask upholstery fabric.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-carved joinery marks, natural patination on high-touch areas, historic frame construction beneath the upholstery, and subtle irregularities in hand-worked wood.

Place the stool as an accent piece alongside an armchair, beneath a console table, or at the foot of a bed to introduce rich wood tones and historic texture.

Dust the timber frame regularly with a soft cloth, apply natural beeswax sparingly to preserve the wood finish, and keep upholstery away from direct sunlight.
