Description

A large, beautiful walnut stool circa 1830 of good proportions. An elegant looking stool with nicely shaped rails and cabriole legs.

The seat is in excellent condition having been re-webbed and re-coverd.

Would be ideal as a dressing table stool but could be used anywhere.

Height - 44cm / 17"

Seat - 69cm x 51cm / 27" x 20"

This large Regency footstool dates from circa 1830 and follows the William IV style. It comprises a warm brown walnut wooden frame with carved cabriole legs, scroll feet, a serpentine frame and patterned gimp trim along the base of the seat. The upholstery consists of a blue and yellow patterned fabric featuring alternating vertical stripes and scroll motifs. The structural components include re-webbed and re-covered support work, shaped wooden rails and polished timber surfaces. Measuring 44 cm in height with a seat measuring 69 cm by 51 cm, this stool suits placement at the foot of a bed, as a dressing table seat, or in a living room as an occasional resting place.
