Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Arts and Crafts movement developed in Britain during the late nineteenth century, placing an emphasis on hand craftsmanship, organic forms, and naturalistic motifs over factory production. Jewellery from this period frequently features silver settings, hand-cut semi-precious stones, and wirework depicting leaves or vines.

Makers favoured silver, pewter, and copper rather than gold, pairing metalwork with cabochon or faceted semi-precious gemstones such as rose quartz, moonstone, turquoise, and amethyst. Hand-drawn wire, hand-hammered links, and sculpted leaf work are typical features.

Authentic pieces display signs of hand-hammering, irregular wire wrapping, and custom bezel settings tailored to individual gemstones. They often lack commercial hallmarks, instead featuring makers marks or un-stamped hand-fabricated silver construction.

Antique jewellery can be integrated into interior spaces by displaying it inside a glass-topped velvet tray, hanging it from a vintage brass jewellery stand on a dressing table, or presenting it within a shadow-box frame on a bedroom wall.

Clean silver using a gentle microfibre polishing cloth, avoiding chemical dips that can damage natural gemstones. Store the piece away from direct sunlight and damp environments to prevent excessive oxidisation and preserve stone clarity.
