This is a really interesting spoon made possibly in East Anglia in c1711, it is in very good condition, nice bowl and rat tail, it has a 4 petal flower hallmark struck 3 times, could be East Anglia but it was also used in the West Country, it needs further research , it has period owners initials ML over MM dated 1711, it is 20cms long and weighs 42 grams ,

A dognose spoon, also known as a wavy-end spoon, is a style of flatware popular during the late 17th and early 18th centuries in Great Britain. It features a flat handle terminating in a rounded, slightly lobed central point, marking the stylistic transition between the trifid pattern and the later Hanoverian pattern.

Spoons from this period were hand-forged from sterling silver or Britannia standard silver, which possessed a higher silver purity of 95.8%. The bowls were hammered into shape, while the rat-tail spine on the reverse provided structural reinforcement where the stem met the bowl.
