A lovely antique blanket chest dating from the mid to late 19th century. It is made from solid teak with hand cut dovetail joints and metal carrying handles. It was likely once a sailor''s chest and has the original owner''s initials engraved on the top ''D.S''.A good size for a coffee table, end of the bed storage or toy trunk.It is in very good condition for its age and the teak has a wonderful rich colour and patina. It is strong and sturdy and clean and tidy inside. There are some signs of age and use, some general knocks and light marks but nothing detrimental and it displays well.
