Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This early 20th century Edwardian cupboard is constructed from warm brown oak with a golden tone, glass, and brass hardware, standing 194 cm high, 99 cm wide, and 33 cm deep. The English Country House style piece comprises an upper section with a moulded cornice, a pair of glazed doors enclosing three fixed shelves with original glass, and a broad plank back. Below, a pair of solid panelled cupboard doors with moulded edges open to lower storage, secured by matching brass turn-latches, and the whole cabinet is raised on a shaped base. The exterior displays marks and scratches throughout, showing signs of wear consistent with age and use while maintaining a structurally solid and sound condition. Suited for practical storage and display in a home today, the cabinet functions well in a dining room, kitchen, or hallway for organising tableware, books, or decorative objects behind protective glass while keeping everyday items concealed below.

Early 20th-century oak glazed cupboards typically feature a two-part construction with a glass-fronted upper section for display and a solid panelled lower cabinet for enclosed storage.

These pieces were predominantly crafted from solid oak, incorporating mortise and tenon framing, fitted shelves, and brass latch mechanisms.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural grain variations across the oak, period-correct brass hardware, and age-appropriate wear along contact points like door edges and handles.

Position the cabinet as a functional focal point in a dining room, hallway, or living space to display ceramics, glassware, or books behind the upper glass doors.

Dust surfaces regularly with a soft cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish along the grain twice yearly to protect the timber.
